Whilst in lockdown due to pandemic, with my Eurofox gathering dust in the hangar, I've been looking at the wiring diagram. It appears to me that I could connect a trickle charger to the cigarette lighter socket and keep the battery topped up this way. Maybe use a small solar panel charger the same way. Has anyone tried this?

Not sure how all years are wired, but I know on my 2019 A240 I can charge the battery through the lighter socket. I trickle charge that way regularly when I know I won’t be able to fly for a week or two. Probably not at all necessary for such a short down time, but I want to be sure the battery is always fully charged.

We trickle charge our battery (2020 A220) on a continuous basis using the NOCO Genius G1100 6V/12V 1.1A UltraSafe Smart Battery Charger through the lighter socket. While the plane is flown multiple times a week, it seems to me like cheap insurance to just keep it on the charger while in the hangar.

Holas & howdies, Rollins has an excellent piece on battery maint @ aerotrek.aero/aerotrek-tips.htm lots of other gr8t infoe too ... Our solution was putting a quick connect yoke on our battery posts so we can re-charge w/o removing the seat :} Anyone have an original battery > 5 yrs old ?
