I like the autopilot. I wish we had a factory autopilot option. We are very limited on what we can legally do here in the US with SLSA's and can't add things like that. Unless we switch the registration to ELSA, our hands are tied. Nice looking panel! You should be proud.

Whoa! You're the guy I need to talk to, SkyUlm.
The biggest drawback I've had with the A240 (Eurofox 3k) is not being able to add an autopilot (the Aerotrek brand won't do it). And because of reasons Jim stated above.
I'd love to hear about it though! How has it worked for you? Did it come from the factory like that? Straight and level flight?
I could keep asking questions, haha. But yes, you should be very proud of your panel!

Hi Dowdy.
I redesigned the panel to include new stuff, removed some of analogic instruments like oil pressure, oil temp, cylinder temp, vario, ball. All these informations are now included in the EFIS and EIS. It was a major modification to install it with servos. Instrument panel had to be replaced by a self-designed panel to accept all new stuff. Was a not piece of cake...
It is coupled with the GPS for NAV tracking. It has an altitude setting, ROC and ROD can be set in the parameters. It levels off itself. Really a pleasure. It makes cross country flights more enjoyable and relax

It makes cross country flights more enjoyable and relax Yeah. That's almost worth going Experimental in itself to me. I know the Australian dealer will include the option for Auto Pilot too. From what I've been told, quote: "an aileron-control autopilot just doesn’t work very well and is not a good idea". Has your experienced differed? I've seen other big brand light-sport companies (with flaperons) have auto pilot and work really well. You've done some bad ass things to that plane. I want my next aircraft to be an A220 (tailwheel variation). It just looks so good and is highly capable. Where are you based out of?

I live in Switzerland, but the plane is based in neighboring France. No access to the plane because of CoVid-19 now. Borders closed.
Calm screen, the auto pilot works to satisfaction. I had to correct the rudder pedals springs and make a lot of adjustments until it worked. The problem with the Eurofox is that it is extremely sensitive to the feet, and that the auto pilot does not activate the rudder.
If you just leave your feet on the rudder , without acting, it’s good enough to fly without worries under AP control

I used to have an Apollo Fox (copy of the Eurofox by halley in Hungary) and the U.S. distributor put 2 axis autopilot in it. Worked well, but they had a bigger vertical stabilizer than my new (2010) Aerotrek. Years ago, I owned a Maule M5 which had an interconnect with aileron and rudder, I've flown other planes with that, also. That might be a solution.
Haven't flown the Aerotrek with the smaller tires, but my 1,000 mile trip home was with the BIG tires and I had no yaw stability. No big deal, you just use the rudders, but on a long trip, it's fun to look out the window and relax, and an autopilot would be great. First, though, I've got to try gap sealing the vertical stab where it has an enormous opening on top of the horizontal stab. On a short relaxing flight, the autopilot would never be used, but these little planes can go quite a distance with very little fuel and should be used!
